Many people consider gardening as a chore done on an open field with mounds of soil. It's very true that vegetable gardening is generally easier than container gardening but if you have space and no soil then containers are your only option. Unless you want to dig up your concrete space or your precious lawn then containers can be placed anywhere there is full sun. You can place the containers on a weather proven table so that you don't have to bend down all the time but you do have to watch the water/moisture in the soil a height causes the soil to dry out faster. I've explained in past blogs that the best fertilizer is the one that's between your legs. All you have to do is get use to the smell and gathering and storing the urine. You have to use container that are 4 to 6 inches in depth for all leafy vegetables. At least 12 inches of soil should be enough for your root vegetables. You do have to put in the effort to water and feed your vegetables and once you've done it...there are ways to improve your container gardening with experimentations with your garden. It's up to the individual and their container garden once established. There are numerous websites to get you started.
